Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr by Eye Studio Eye Shadows

Hi Guys!
I hope all of you are doing well! Summer is in full swing now and with all the craziness has started. I have been mid moving houses and been cleaning out a lot of things. Doing this, has allowed me to rediscover a lot of make up that I use to love but just haven't used lately. One of these products is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr by Eye Studio Eye Shadows. I think I got my first one right when they first came out and I picked up a few more a couple months later. I honestly forgot how awesome they are until a few weeks ago.

Left to Right: Tough as Taupe, Edgy Emerald, Pomegranate Punk

The three I own are in: 35 Tough as Taupe50 Edgy Emerald and 30 Pomegranate Punk. When you look at the in the packaging, they can be a bit scary looking because they are so intense. However, once you actually use them you find out how diverse they are.

Packaging: The packaging of these eye shadows is really cute! It's a glass little pot with a plastic black lid. The black lid has a sticker label with details about the eye shadow on it. The glass pot makes it really easy to see what color you picked up. Only downside is that, they are bit heavy because they are glass so I don't like traveling with them.

Colors: Edgy Emerald is a metallic sea foam green. I also see some hints of teal in it. Tough as Taupe is a matte gray color. When you look at Tough as Taupe as first or throw the glass, it really looks taupe however, once you actually touch it, it comes off a lot darker. Pomegranate Punk is a deep burgundy purple with gold shimmer in it.

Formula: These eyeshadows are definitely cream based eye shadows. They actually remind me a lot of Tarte's Clay liners. They are really easy to apply by brush or finger ( I prefer to use my fingers) and they blend very nicely.

Pigment: In the pot, they appear overly intense and if you want that intense you can get it. They are so buildable it's nuts. 10/10 for pigment.

Finish: These shadows leave a nice smooth finish that doesn't crease. They are also really nice bases for powder shadows if you want to get a lot of pigment out of the powder shadows.

They are said to last 24 hours which they don't however, they do last a good 8 without any retouches. Overall, I love these and I am so happy I have rediscovered them! I can not wait to do a FOTD with them.

Have you tried them? If so, What you think of them?
So rumor has it that Google Reader is going away so upset! But be sure to follow me on Bloglovin' to keep up with my posts!

  2. Pomegranate punk looks gorgeous! I was a bit late on the band wagon & only picked up for my first colour tattoo a couple weeks ago & I LOVE it. It would be perfect if they bought out a natural toned shade that could be used as a base.

  6. I have tried this product and love the shade barely branded (it's one of the metallic shades). I often use it as a base or when I'm going to the beach/gym. I had originally planned on sticking to neutrals but I love how the pomegranate color looks swatched so I'll probably end up with that as well!
