I have come to the conclusion that we live in a
straight/wavy hair world. This leaves us curly headed girls out on our own.
Hair dressers only really know how to cut straight or wavy hair and when they cut curly hair, they do so with the
assumption that it will be blown out straight everyday. I once had a hair dress suggest giving me bangs straight across my forehead... I can only imagine how funny I would look with them curly and sticking up everywhere.
Hair products are all designed to either help you straighten your hair or enhance your curls. However, if you have curly hair you
don't need a product to enhance your curls, you need it to
control them. All enhance curls products are actually meant for people with wavy hair who want their waves to look more curly.
I, myself, have extremely curly hair. I
rarely straighten it because it takes about two hours and only recently have I gotten into a comfortable place with my hair. I no longer choose to pull my hair up because it is crazy, i choose to
embrace it because curly hair is amazing.
Over the years, I have come across products that have turned my hair into an
overly shiny poodle and other products that actually have helped
control my hair. Since I know I can't be the only curly haired girl out in the world that would've loved to have someone tell me products, styles, and cuts that actually work for curly hair, I've decided to have a series of posts called
Curly Hair Problems. In these posts, I will go over products I have used that made my hair look amazing, products I now know to always stay away from and everything else a follow curly hair girl could be looking for!
Enjoy xx
my curls have a mind of their own!
